Persuasive writing-Should we be responsible for our environment?

We have been learning in our writing groups how to write a good persuasive writing. 

This is my persuasive writing about should we be responsible for our environment? 

I really liked writing about this topic because it's a really interesting topic to write about for persuasive writing. I got to learn about new things about what's going on around the world with rubbish, pollution and how it affects the land.

I found it hard to think of a good conclusion so it could make the reader more interested in my writing, getting good facts so my writing won't be plain and to make sure it makes sense.

Next time I will make sure I will finish this piece of writing in the time given.    

Mid-day

I found it easy to think of what's my favourite time of day.

I found it hard to stop talking to others around me because they were also talking and singing. 

Next time I will make sure next time that I will not talk unless I have to go to the teacher.  

The Great Awapuni fun run!

In class we are doing recount writing and this is my recount about the fun run!

I found it easy to do my editing and re-crafting.

I found it hard to think of good describing words to paint a picture in the readers mind.

Next time I will write less and more describing words.

I learnt that my buddy is good at coloring in.

Next time I could add more detail in the background and give Mr House a body.

Poem writing

What is the ocean?
Blue swaying water,
a place for sea animals.
Waves crashing sounding like thunder,
water tasting like salt.
Glowing like crystals deep in the ocean.
That's an ocean 

Nature 
Nature is the best.
It smells like flowers outside.
Birds tweeting outside.

I learnt that on the first sentence of a haiku it is five syllables ,then on the second it is seven, then the last one is five. 

Napier Earthquake

Napier earthquake

This disaster was a dangerous killing earthquake making buildings collapse and humongous fires. 

How the earthquake happened was by tectonic plates shifting underground causing the big earthquake.

The weather was very hot and dry in the district. Napier the 3rd 1931 10:00am was when this earthquake happened. 
This disaster can happen again at anytime of the year.

This earthquake was devastating in Napier and Hawke’s bay 
history.

Napier earthquake caused damage to buildings\homes rivers or water supplies, the earthquake caused lots of damage to the environment and many other stuff.  

Napier earthquake was measured up to  7.8, There were 525 aftershocks recorded in the following two weeks. 

This Earthquake lasted for two weeks causing a lot of damage to Napier and Hawke’s bay.

Napier earthquake affected a lot of areas around Napier and Hawke’s bay.

Napier’s earthquake killed  256 people, and injured thousands of  kids and adults.

Rainy day at school

I arrived at school, I did not want to hop out of the car because it was pouring down with rain. Mum looked scorching because the car was sizzling.   

3 2 1 there I went blasting like a rocket to class oh no there was a giant puddle, I almost slipped in the big crazy puddle.

Leilah opened  the door woosh came the warm air it surrounded me, my big goosebumps started to disappear.

I looked outside the court it looked like a big giant crazy lake.

Bring bring, it was time for learning, Miss Wallis came she opened her big computer she called out everyone's name.

Slash swoosh bang the rain got angry. The rain was scary. It sounded like it wanted to yell  at the whole school. The heater was warm everyone was boiling I felt like an oven that had been on for 2 hours. I went outside to get my Chromebook. It was freezing brr I said to myself.  

Marine reserve

Why are Marine Reserve important  

I am going to explain to you why the Marine Reserve is important.

The marine reserve is important. The marine  is important because all kinds of sea animals live there so they are protected.

Don’t take or kill any marine life. If you do you will be fined $250,000.

Do not feed fish cause it disturbs their habitat. If you disturb their home that is not kind. Do not destroy their home because it is a place to live. The fish could die because they have no home to live.

Now you can see why the marine is important.

The marine is a protected place you are always aloud there any time.

“Yay” I said as we arrived to our aunty Lisa and uncle Tapu. Oh no as Gust tried to jump on me as I was coming out of the hot sizzling car, zipp I put on my warm cozy jacket. Come on said my Mum and aunty Lisa but Sloan and I was so excited because we were going to rere rockslide, then I saw a head pop out of the car then it was Chase Sloan did know it was Chase in the first place but he did not tell me. Vroom went both of the cars as we were leaving the house “yay” Sloan and me said.We were so hot were felt like a oven been on for five hours. “Finally” Sloan said loud like a crazy giant because we arrived, I touched the freezing  water “brrr” I said. “Mmmm can you smell that” my sister said to Sloans sisters “yes” they said but I was wondering where the nice smell was coming from there it is so Monica counted 3 2 1 they we all went as fast as a cheetah to the food because that was the nice smell. Chomp chomp as we bite in to our nice delicious food. Go on said aunty Lisa so me and Sloan got the air beds and the boogie boards, “do you want a race Sloan” I said to him “sure” Sloan said zoom I went then Sloan started to drop the air beds but then I tripped up because a rock was stuck in the ground. “Are you ready” said Monica to me and Sloan so we ran over to the big crazy rockslide and we all put down the air beds. There goes Caitlyn jumping on to the big air bed Bang went Monica jumping on as well Caitlyn said to me to jump on so I did then. 3 2 1 woosh there we went down the rockslide bang I flyed off because of a giant rock oh no I can't get back up because off the air bed I got stuck underneath it.

Going to the beach

In the weekend my family and me were going to the beach. We arrived we sat down, Mum put the cold freezing sunblock in my hand I waited till the sunblock was finished socking. “Woosh” went my sister’s and me.”Splash” went the water as we jumped in.  

The waves arrived it was time to bodysurf but then the waves got bigger. “oh no” I said loudly.“Bang!” the wave slapped onto my back. “Where were my sisters?” I thought to myself. Then I looked their they are ducking up and down, in the deep part. Brrrr! It got freezing so I swam back into the shaw splash went my legs like a whale. My sister's asked me if I wanted to have a swimming competition so I said ok then, so we all ran out to the water like a galloping stallion but as we were running we started to sink in the cold watery sand. Stomp stomp went our feet like crazy giants then oww I yelled, a crab pinched me.

Finally we were in the water ok it was time to race, ready steady go slash bang boom went all of our legs. I looked back watch out my sister yelled bang! a wave overtaken  us. It was time to go home wow it was a great time at the beach.

I was going to the cold windy stormy gorge.

“Finally” Sloan and Koby-lee said because we just arrived at the house

There goes Koby jumping out of the big silver truck, but Sloan and me were going as slow as a snail well we were coming out of the truck.

Woosh came the warm air as I opened the door bang the door slammed from the windy crazy wind. Hawaii wanted me to help her bring all of stuff in to the dark creepy batch, “yay” I said as one horse came down from the very top of the giant hill. “What was that noise” Hawaii said quite as a mouse, “I don't know as” I said to Hawaii.” Ahhh” I yelled as we saw a hairy spider well we were by the truck “run” Hawaii said as we ran like a crazy cheetah into the house. Zoom came Sloan blasting like a rocket with my ipad in his cold freezing hands, so I asked Sloan if I could have my ipad back but he said no so I had to chase him around the whole house it felt like an hour just chasing after him.

Mmm, what was that nice smell coming from the kitchen

Hawaii and Sloan said as quiet as a mouse. Sloan started to drag  me into the kitchen. Yummy we looked at the sizzling bacon and scrambled eggs, can you hear that sound oh no I yelled because we were not aloud in the kitchen. Run so we all ran like a crazy cheetah trying to catch its prey.

Ouch, I fell on the ground as I was running like a crazy giant.

Writing

I arrived at my new school I only knew one person. When I went to my new classroom I started to feel sick. I knew no one it felt like I was trapped in a big dark cage. Everyone was laughing like elephants except me then the teacher came in. Then she sat down on her kreeky chair then she said her name it was Miss Moore. Miss Moore was a nice teacher. Then the bell rang it felt like a earthquake it was dayley exercise. The whole classroom lined up outside then everyone wanted to be my friend and I said yes.
